I know where he is and that he is in a safe and happy place and I will see him again, but I miss him!

James Lawrence Blackford 26/10/1935-12/05/2010.
He was a wonderful man and lived an amazing colourful life.
My brother shared shared this poem with me and I love it:
"Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.
Call me by my familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
it is the same as it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well."
Love you Dad.

Wow. Jacquie I am so sorry hear that. I'm thinking about you and your family! That was an amazing poem. Thank you for sharing.
I am so sorry Jacquie. It is so hard to lose a parent, especially when it comes unexpected. I know the Gospel will give you the greatest comfort right now. That poem really summed it all up so eloquently. Take care of yourself.
Jacquie, I am heartbroken for you. What a blessing to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation, to know where your dad is and to know you will see and be with him again. Love to you and your family.
